How khrobkrz came to be
The name Khrobkrua — ครอบครัว — is the Thai word for family. It was chosen deliberately, not as decoration, but as a statement of focus. This practice was established to work within one area of law and to work within it thoughtfully.
The founding partners recognised a gap that is easy to see in many professional service settings: clients arriving at significant moments in their lives and being offered a process rather than a conversation. Family law, in particular, tends to move at the pace of courts and procedures — and rarely at the pace of the people involved.
khrobkrz was set up in Huai Khwang to offer something different. A first meeting that takes as long as it needs to take. Written notes sent after every session. Fixed fees stated in advance. Remote options for clients who cannot easily travel. These are not unusual ideas, but they are not always easy to find together in one place.
The practice focuses on three areas: initial consultation for people who need to understand their position before taking any step; preparation of separation agreements for couples who have decided together that a written arrangement would help; and coordination of mediated divorce for those who would prefer a structured, non-adversarial process over contested proceedings.
We are a small team by intention. Each client's matter receives the attention of a qualified adviser, not a junior who passes notes upward. Progress is reported in writing. No decision affecting your outcome is taken without your prior, informed knowledge.

Priya Wattana
Senior Family Law Adviser
Called to the Thai Bar in 2009, Priya has spent the past fourteen years working exclusively in family matters. She leads mediated divorce coordination and brings particular experience in cross-border family arrangements.
Natthapat Lertchai
Family Law Adviser
Natthapat joined the practice in 2018 after several years in civil litigation. He focuses on separation agreement drafting and on initial consultations, with a particular interest in the legal position of children within family arrangements.
Siriporn Apiwong
Client Liaison & Document Coordinator
Siriporn manages the practice's communications and document processes. She ensures that written notes reach clients promptly, that appointments are confirmed clearly, and that no client waits without knowing why.

Standards and protocols
Each of these reflects a specific commitment we make to every client from the beginning of an engagement.
Thai Bar membership
All advising members of the practice hold current membership of the Lawyers Council of Thailand and operate within the Council's professional conduct rules.
Legal professional privilege
All communications between clients and the practice are protected by legal professional privilege. Nothing is shared with third parties without the client's express consent.
Written records of all advice
After every meeting, clients receive a written note confirming what was discussed and what was agreed. No advice rests solely on memory or verbal understanding.
Trained in family mediation
Senior advisers have completed accredited mediation training, supporting our ability to coordinate mediated processes effectively and understand the mediator's role in a matter.
PDPA-compliant data handling
Client data is stored and processed in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562. Clients may request access to or deletion of their data at any time.
One working day response
All enquiries received during office hours receive an acknowledgement within one working day. No client's question waits longer than that without a reason being given.
Our values
What guides our work
Family law in Thailand is governed by the Civil and Commercial Code, and the process available to families ranges from uncontested divorce registered at a district office through to full court proceedings. Between those points, there is a wide space in which a family can shape its own arrangements — if the parties have access to clear information and calm professional support.
khrobkrz works within that middle space. We do not take adversarial mandates — our work is oriented toward helping clients understand their position, draft clear written arrangements, and, where appropriate, navigate a mediated path toward an agreed resolution. We believe that a family's affairs are best settled by the people within that family, with legal support, rather than by a court applying a general standard.
Our approach draws on experience across three areas of Thai family law: the law of marriage, the provisions relating to children, and the division of property between spouses. We also maintain working knowledge of the recognition of foreign family law decisions in Thailand, which is relevant to clients who have lived, studied, or owned property in more than one jurisdiction.
We maintain a small caseload by design. Each adviser at this practice takes personal responsibility for their clients' matters. Files are not passed between team members without notice to the client, and no step is delegated without the client knowing who is carrying out that step and why.
